Cryogenic Lipolysis:
The procedure is a newly popular fat reduction technique that uses cold temperature in order to eliminate the fat layers in specific spots on your body. It is permanent, non-invasive, and requiring no recovery time. We were the first clinic that introduced Cryogenic Lipolysis to UK in 2011. Since then we have performed more than 6000 treatments, and gathered our well earned first hand experiences in Cryogenic Lipolysis.
How Does it Work?
The process is actually rather simple. The machine is used to essentially suck a portion of your skin, and the fat beneath it, into a cooling device at the end of a hose, which simultaneously cools both the skin and the fat to a temperature that is safe for the skin, but destroys the fat beneath it.
Freezing fat cells effectively kills these cells and causes your body to undergo apoptosis, which is the safe removal of these dead cells. During the weeks following treatment these destroyed cells are processed through your lymphatic system.
What will the result be?
Clinical studies have shown only one Cryogenic lipolysis treatment to be effective on between 22% - 25% of the fat cells in the treatment area in just one session. However, results will vary on the individual, the thickness of the fat deposits in each area, and the lifestyle maintained after treatment. Those that follow the aftercare advice will get the best results.
What are the side-effects?
Cryogenic Lipolysis is a non-invasive method of reducing stubborn fat. Given that it is a non-invasive alternative to things like surgical liposuction, Cryogenic Lipolysis has minimal side-effects. Please ask our friendly therapists for more information on all potential side-effects.
When will I see results?
This depends on the individual, the thickness of the fat deposits, and the area treated. Changes happen over a number of weeks, between 8 to 12 weeks being the estimated time to see the maximum result.
Are the results permanent?
YES - It is permanent. Once the fat cells have been destroyed, the same fat cells cannot grow back.
What are the aftercare advices?
Minimum 2 liters of water per day for minimum 2 months + Regular cardio exercises (3 or 4 times per week). As with every type of fat loss treatment, maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle is the key.
Is it Right for Me?
It is not a weight loss procedure, but rather a method of spot reduction of fat in certain areas. As such, Cryogenic Lipolysis is generally intended for those who are moderately overweight, down to those who are perfectly within their target weight, but have specific bumps or bulges they would like to get rid of.
What are the contraindications?
Raynaud's disease / Pregnancy / Severe diabetes / Kidney problems / Liver problems / Areas of impaired peripheral circulation / Open or infected wounds / Areas of recent bleeding or haemorrhage / Heart problems
Can this treatment be done by doctors only?
NO. Unlike surgery, this treatment can be done by a well trained and fully qualified therapist. All our therapists have been provided with top quality training and passed an extensive practical test. Equally importantly, we were the first clinic that introduced Cryogenic Lipolysis to UK in 2011. Since then we have performed more than 6000 treatments, and gathered our well earned first hand experiences in Cryogenic Lipolysis.
